In 2020, the young stallion Cardentos appeared on the scene! Licensed by the Holsteiner Verband in Elmshorn, he was presented by the Witt stable, the breeding family of his sire, the legendary Cardento. In the following years, our initial impressions were confirmed, and Cardentos impressed us with top marks and sporting results in young horse classes and at the Bundeschampionat. He completed his 14-day test in Neustadt/Dosse in 2020 with a weighted final score of 8.60 for jumping. He received a score of 9.0 for his free jumping and an 8.0 for rideability. Cardentos completed his 2021 sport test in Münster-Handorf with a weighted final score of 8.13 for jumping. As a four-year-old, Cardentos has already placed several times in novice level show jumping classes. In the 2022 season, Cardentos placed in show jumping classes up to medium* level under Alexandra Witt. Test results from his 2020 14-day test in Neustadt/Dosse: total 7.98; dressage 6.96; jump 8.60. The 2022 sport test in Verden: weighted jumping final score 8.67. Cardentos has now reached the heavy class.
A promising young stallion that we definitely wanted to include in our breeding program.
His sire, Cardento, has proven himself at the highest level, winning silver medals at the World Championships, European Championships, and the Olympic Games in Athens, among others. Cardento’s breeding results are world-class. H & M Cue Channa and Bardoloni competed at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Matrix competed at the London Olympic Games. In 2014, six offspring competed at the World Championships in Normandy: Matrix, Celestine, Carisma, Duke of Carnaval, Cafino, and Silverstar VDL. Last year, there were more than 25 offspring competing at the 1.60 m level.
His 4 year old dam, Anthipes, presents her first foal and is a daughter of the Hanoverian stallion All Star 5, who imparts athleticism, correct feet and legs with a strong back, and a great joy of cantering to his offspring. With 270 international appearances, All Star is one of the most successful and consistent horses on the international sporting stage. He has won over €320,000 in prize money on the Global Champions Tour alone and over €1.1 million in total. He finished fifth in the 2016 World Cup Final, ninth in the individual ranking at the 2014 World Equestrian Games, and was part of the Irish team that won the gold medal at the 2017 European Championships in Gothenburg.
The granddam, Aratinga, is our first home-bred mare and is by Koerby, a daughter of Kolibri and the founder of our breeding program. Koerby was successful up to 1.40 m and produced Gammon, another internationally successful eventer.
